From TV News Producer
to Google Visibility Expert
I'm a Southern Indiana girl who always dreamed of running my own business. In 2002, I took the leap — quit my full-time job as a television news producer and opened a portrait photography studio. A year later, my husband Todd left his job to join me full-time.
For years, Google was our lifeline for new clients. Then in 2008, our phone nearly stopped ringing overnight. I did some digging and discovered the hard truth: our website had fallen off page one. We couldn't afford paid ads. We couldn't afford to hire someone. So I did the only thing I could — I taught myself SEO from scratch.
We clawed our way back to the top, and that hard-won knowledge changed everything. Other local business owners started asking how we did it. I began coaching, teaching, and consulting — and watching their phones start ringing again became my new passion.
Today I help local businesses across the country build sustainable visibility on Google — without paid ads, without the social media treadmill, and without the overwhelm. Real strategy. Real results. And a genuine investment in your success.
When I'm not talking Google
Business is personal — here's a little more of who I am outside the work.
Serious About Coffee
A good cup of coffee is non-negotiable. One of my favorite things to do in any new city is find an independent coffee shop, sit down, and soak it all in. Bonus points for a great latte and good wifi.
Always Reading Something
Reading is one of my greatest pleasures. There's always a book on my nightstand — usually a mix of business, personal growth, and a good story to get lost in. I genuinely believe readers make better thinkers.
Happiest with a Boarding Pass
Todd and I love to travel. Whether it's a road trip to visit the girls or a bigger adventure somewhere new, exploring the world together is one of our favorite things. New places, new coffee shops — what's not to love?
A Storyteller at Heart
Before SEO, I was a TV news producer — and storytelling has always been in my DNA. I believe every local business has a story worth telling, and getting Google to tell it for you is kind of my superpower.
Entrepreneur Through and Through
I've been self-employed for over 20 years and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I understand the risks, the rewards, and the sleepless nights — which is exactly why I care so deeply about helping other business owners thrive.
Faith-Driven
My faith is central to who I am and how I show up — in business and in life. It's the foundation of the integrity, honesty, and genuine care I bring to every client relationship.
The people who keep
it all in perspective
I've been married to my husband Todd for over 30 years. He was my original business partner when we ran the photography studio together, and he has been my steady anchor through every chapter since. Every risk I've ever taken, I've taken knowing he was right there with me.
Our daughter Emma has built a life out west in Colorado — she's our mountain girl. Our daughter Lindsay is happily settled in Holland, Michigan with her husband, making the most beautiful life there.
Family is the reason I work hard, the reason I care so deeply about other business owners' livelihoods, and the constant reminder that there's always something more important than the next Google update.
